2010-2011 Charred Landscapes
I walked through the dune woodlands after the fires and made landscape drawings of the places where I had worked before, representing what I saw.
My perception works through images, but often they pile up too quickly and become a strain. Then I take the time to draw these images so they can leave my head.
The burnt forests are macabre and also very beautiful. Drawing these landscapes I bring beauty and grief together.
